Mission Mycology is a educational program designed for Let’s Talk Science (LTS) engaging high school students, educators and relevant partners across Canada in sincere and purposeful climate action. Based on extensive reserch conducted by LTS the team designed a program that inspires curiosity and respect for our shared environment; presenting students and educators the space and tools to develop new transferable skills and sustainable future-minded habits.

Prototype Summary

Regular maintenance, prep and observation of class -grown mushrooms in various conditions. Students learn about ideal habitats and useful cultivation and procedural skills.

Grow-Lab

Hands on workshop series that deals with specimen sourcing and analysis. Students Learn proper scientific procedures for tools and reports.

Investigations

Students use harvested mushrooms and abundant scrap to create sustainably made paper. Students learn about material properties and processing.
